We are so excited that our new Choir Leader Andra will be joining us on Monday 28th April at 6.30 for 6.45 start. We asked her to introduce herself:

Andra East is a choral conductor, singer, and music administrator, with a particular specialism in and passion for music learning and community programmes. Andra has conducted the London Latvian Choir for 15 years, a mixed-ability adult choir for people connected with Latvia and its choral music and has worked extensively in the Latvian musical community in the UK as a vocal leader, both with adults and young people. Whilst working in her former role at the London Symphony Orchestra, Andra instigated group singing activities and performances for staff, in order to support wellbeing at work. Having studied Music at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she was a Choral Scholar in the college Chapel Choir, Andra has sung extensively with various church and chamber choirs, including the Colla Voce Singers. One of Andra’s conducting highlights was leading a performance of nearly 1,000 Latvian singers in a concert in Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, as part of the Latvian Song Festival in Canada.
Welcome Andra, we are looking forward to adding a few Latvian songs to our diverse repertoire.
